I’m delighted that my painting, “It’s Brightening Up – Pett Level” has been selected as one of the three winning entries in the Painters Online Seascape Competition.
Pett Level is a village and coastal stretch, also known as Cliff End just along from Hastings in East Sussex, where the Weald sandstone cliffs reach their easternmost point.
It was one of my favourite places to explore as a boy and I still love going there. I went there specifically to take reference photos for a painting. It wasn’t a sunny day, but one of those days when you say, hopefully, “I think it’s brightening up.”
Picked from 111 entries, this is a great boost for me and I’m very proud of this achievement. I can supply limited edition giclée prints of this painting in different sizes.
