I’m absolutely thrilled to share with you my largest and most significant piece of art to date, the Dover Marina Hotel & Spa, unveiled at a very special event on Thursday 8th September by the Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Gordon Cowan.
I’m hugely proud to see my painting hanging pride of place in this wonderful and iconic building that dominates the Dover waterfront, and I believe my piece is one of the largest ‘hyperrealism’ watercolour paintings now in existence…

I’m excited and very proud that my Brighton at Dusk painting is now available to purchase in the shop at Brighton i360, the 138m high observation tower at the end of the West Pier on the seafront of Brighton. Brighton i360 has unbelievable views of this wonderful town, the South Downs and out to the English Channel and it’s a great place to get a different perspective on a town that I’ve known all my life.

What a lovely afternoon spent at the rather picturesque Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club, where I handed over a commission to a very deserving club member, Roger Maynard, as a surprise gift in celebration of his very own platinum jubilee – 70 seasons as a player! A huge achievement.
I was commissioned to paint the pitch and clubhouse scene by the club Chairman, to be presented at the re-opening of the club, following their extensive outfield renovation project.

It was a challenge to paint as the outfield of the cricket pitch had just been completely turned over to be replaced during a huge renovation project by the club, so when taking photos of the scene, the pitch was bare earth and the trees were not in leaf!
So I relied on a number of my photos, plus photos from the club and online to piece the scene together. I aimed to portray the view of village cricket on a beautiful day in high summer and I hope that’s what I have achieved!

I’ve painted many watercolours of beautiful Kent and Sussex coastal and inland settings, and was recently commissioned by my friend Allen Hartley, owner of Whitstable Art Cage, to paint “The Street”, depicting Whitstable’s iconic beach front from a new angle.

I’ll be unveiling the final painting today, Thursday 5th August at the Whitstable Art Cage. Come along to Hut 2, Whitstable Harbour Market at 2PM!
I’m obviously no stranger to Whitstable, having previously painted Whitstable’s pier for the Art Cage, but you never get tired of Whitstable!

It’s such a special and interesting place, as it combines an attractive working harbour with a great coastline and a thriving town. It’s always been a favourite of mine and is a very popular destination with its iconic beach huts.
The original painting of The Street will be available from August 5th for £895 (unless sold prior) with prints (landscape format) measuring:
37.62 x 19.92cm @ £95,
51 x 27cm @ £155
75.81 x 40.14cm @ £225

Allen Hartley, owner of Whitstable Art Cage at the Whitstable Harbour Market said: “Nigel has been a friend for a long time and his prints (all of which are available at “The Cage”) are hugely popular with locals and visitors alike. I expect this one to be no different and am really excited to see the final result.”
For media and customer enquiries about prints and the original please contact Allen: 07787 656037 or email whitstableartcage@gmail.com.
